A few scenes from Marlene, mostly bunched together starting about 1.5 hours in. She plays a cabaret singer (yet again) in postwar Berlin, and smokes onstage as part of her act (snatching a cig from between the lips of a male audience member is a favorite move) and offstage as well. At various times we see her holding, dragging, exhaling both inhaled and uninhaled smoke, dangling as she claps her hands in time to music, and lighting one cigarette from the end of another. A routinely terrific performance from a woman who rarely disappoints. Did not see the first half hour of the film, there might be more.
