Overview (TMDB): India. The spoilt and stubborn Edwina Esketh, comes to a small town with her husband. She falls in love with an indian doctor, Dr. Safti. She also meets an old friend of hers, the alcoholic Tom Ransome. An awful earthquake is followed by days of rain.

Lana cups her hands around the flame as she lights her cigarettes in the manner of one who is used to lighting up in awkward conditions (but then she was a big IRL smoker). In one scene she appears to remove a flake of tobacco from her tongue. An open-mouth inhale/exhale is unfortunately filmed in medium shot, but it still looks good. There is dialogue regarding her heavy smoking as she chain-lights a fresh cigarette from the butt of the one before, which she stubs out in her overflowing ashtray.
