Biography (TMDB): From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Lana Turner (February 8, 1921 – June 29, 1995) was an American actress. Discovered and signed to a film contract by MGM at the age of sixteen, Turner first attracted attention in They Won't Forget (1937). She played featured roles, often as the ingenue, in such films as Love Finds Andy Hardy (1938). During the early 1940s she established herself as a leading actress in such films as Johnny Eager (1941), Ziegfeld Girl (1941) and Somewhere I'll Find You (1942). She is known as one of the first Hollywood scream queens thanks to her role in the 1941 horror film Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and her reputation as a glamorous femme fatale was enhanced by her performance in the film noir The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946). Her popularity continued through the 1950s, in such films as The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) and Peyton Place (1957), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. In 1958, her daughter, Cheryl Crane, stabbed Turner's lover Johnny Stompanato to death. A coroner's inquest brought considerable media attention to Turner and concluded that Crane had acted in self defense. Turner's next film, Imitation of Life (1959), proved to be one of the greatest successes of her career, but from the early 1960s her roles were fewer. She gained recognition near the end of her career with a recurring guest role in the television series Falcon Crest during 1982 and 1983. Turner made her final television appearance in 1991, and died from throat cancer in 1995.

Movies
A Life of Her Own
smokingsides
Turner poses for a long photo shoot with a cigarette in a long holder, held in her mouth, ND Dvorak holds in four scenes, ND Background smoking by extras
Another Time, Another Place
smokingsides
Typical of her style, Turner smokes a lot (10 scenes). While some just show her holding, there are some close-ups and good inhale/exhale sequences scattered throughout.
Bachelor in Paradise
smokingsides
One scene, holding in a restaurant. Beautiful.
Betrayed
smokingsides
Lights up in two scenes, the first with clear inhale/exhale
smokingsides
Near the end of the movie, Winger can be seen smoking a cigarette, with nice exhales, form her mouth and nose.
Homecoming
smokingsides
Plays a nurse, always in her uniform. In one scene, dangles, lights up, a subtle very sexy IRL exhale, stub out. Later throws one away in anger, ND. Then holds and stubs out, ND.
smokingsides
Deep drags in the beginning
Imitation of Life
smokingsides
All-white cigarettes feature in six scenes, with two lightings. She mostly just holds, but there is one scene where she lights up, opens her mouth wide to inhale, and has traces on her breath as she speaks.
Latin Lovers
smokingsides
Three okay scenes that I remember. Not spectacular, but it is Lana
Love Has Many Faces
smokingsides
She has two scenes. One in bed!
Madame X
smokingsides
Bennett seen holding in only one scene - Turner smokes in two other scenes
smokingsides
smokes twice. Once in a bar with 2 deep enhales, and french exhales. The second at a family reunion with 2 other unknowns, one inhale and a nostril exhale. The smoking is convincing and she looked IRL. Smoked Marlboro Reds in flip-top box's.
Peyton Place
smokingsides
Cigarettes sit comfortably between Lana's fingers and there is a nice side-on nasal exhale. Diane unconvincingly lights her all-white from a serviceman's cigarette.
Portrait in Black
smokingsides
What a horribly overacted movie, but she puffs away at every opportunity.
The Merry Widow
smokingsides
Dangle and light-up, a puff and some holding, one short scene only as Fifi a chorus girl. Still looks good, though.
The Postman Always Rings Twice
smokingsides
good scene in backroom of court house. Ranks up with the others, but too few good scenes.
smokingsides
As far as I can remember, [Lange] smokes unfiltered cigs throughout this one! Several very good shots. Seven short scenes with Jessica smoking non-filters. I particularly liked the one in which she takes a final drag and then stubs her cigarette out and removes a flake of tobacco from her tongue before exhaling. Anjelica lights and drags on a Philip Morris non-filter in a cameo role.
The Rains of Ranchipur
smokingsides
Lana cups her hands around the flame as she lights her cigarettes in the manner of one who is used to lighting up in awkward conditions (but then she was a big IRL smoker). In one scene she appears to remove a flake of tobacco from her tongue. An open-mouth inhale/exhale is unfortunately filmed in medium shot, but it still looks good. There is dialogue regarding her heavy smoking as she chain-lights a fresh cigarette from the butt of the one before, which she stubs out in her overflowing ashtray.
The Sea Chase
smokingsides
I missed the start, but there's a couple of smoking scenes
Ziegfeld Girl
smokingsides
Two lightings, one of which is followed by a side-on drag and exhale.
