In two scenes, Page holds a wooden pipe as if smoking, sometimes raising it to her lips and once dangling it when she stands up to get on her bicycle. It's clearly the kind used mainly for tobacco, not drugs. There's nothing in it, but the one bonus audition scene suggests that the original plan was to have her smoke for real, since you see Page, without props or scenery, pretending to be holding a pipe and exhaling, including making the sound of an exhale. There's also dialogue in the audition scene as follows: 'I'm pregnant.' 'Should you be smoking then?' 'You know my pipe is my mistress in times of stress. |
