In an early scene Ava accepts a cigarette in the street, but the lighting and exhale are filmed from the rear. Later on her cheeks sink in as she lights up, opens her mouth to send the smoke down, but then exhales almost immediately. Barbara lights up at one point, but her exhale, though very visible, is filmed from behind. Beverley inserts a cigarette between her lips as she awaits a light, but we have to wait a while before we see two cool, though thin, mouth- and-nose exhales.
