She does not smoke in the movie itself, but is seen smoking twice in [this] making of.. on the DVD. First we can see an exhale filmed from behind. Then there is a fantastic scene where she is tempted by co-star Paul Bettany to take a puff of his cigarette. Running over to Bettany to take a puff, she accepts the cigarette with shaking hands in a display of mock desperation. She proceeds to take a long and deep inhale, followed by a full nose/mouth combo exhale. Bettany then asks her if it was good and Kidman replies: 'That was VERY good' with a brief talk exhale of the remaining smoke. Sadly the smoking incident from the Cannes press conference has been edited away, all we get to see is a smouldering cigarette in the ashtray next to her.
