There are around a dozen cigarette-smoking scenes. Dressed in nurse's uniform, Cheryl looks very natural as her cheeks hollow as she drags and smoke emerges on her breath. She exhales while singing and dancing in one scene. In another, she relights a dog-end. Though desperately craving a cigarette as she lies in a hospital bed, deprived of the Merits she inhales both in the film and IRL, she criticises the menthols she is offered as being 'damn toothpaste cigarettes'. Nevertheless, her whole body visibly relaxes in satisfaction and appreciation as the first gratifying drag strikes home. Some good smoking dialogue, too.
