Overview (TMDB): A constant runaway is given over to the care of the state and finds herself in a remand centre for girls. She is soon caught between the uncaring bureaucracy, the sometimes brutal treatment from her peers and her own abusive family, and only one care worker sees her potential to rise above her tragic circumstances.

Linda plays a 14 year old runaway who is sent to a juvenile detention facility. Many of her fellow inmates smoke. The women who tend to the girls light their cigarettes for them. Linda is then sent home for the weekend and is sitting with her mother, who is smoking, watching TV. Linda is holding a cigarette, but doesn't smoke it. When she goes back to jail, she finally asks for a cigarette and smokes it pretty well. There's one more light up and obscured exhale at the end.
