Blair is best known for her role as the possessed child, Regan, in the 1973 acclaimed blockbuster The Exorcist, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award and two Golden Globes, winning one. She reprised her role in 1977's Exorcist II: The Heretic, a controversial sequel which had a poor response with both audiences and critics. Linda plays a 14 year old runaway who is sent to a juvenile detention facility. Many of her fellow inmates smoke. The women who tend to the girls light their cigarettes for them. Linda is then sent home for the weekend and is sitting with her mother, who is smoking, watching TV. Linda is holding a cigarette, but doesn't smoke it. When she goes back to jail, she finally asks for a cigarette and smokes it pretty well. There's one more light up and obscured exhale at the end.
