Surprisingly engaging little low-budget film noir, but the smoking is kind of a bust, especially for the era and genre, where there's a box of cigs on a table in every room and people tend to go for them as casually as they would a dish of peanuts. Obligatory femme fatale Lizabeth holds briefly in an early scene, then toward the end she has one very good lightup with a lusty, thick exhale, unfortunately filmed from across a big room. That's all there is. |
