Haven't seen the film itself, but there's a collection of clips posted online, and on the evidence of that I'd say Lebrun possibly smokes more in this film than any actress in any film ever. I didn't count, but there may have been 100 drags/exhales. Her inhales are a bit shallow, her exhales extra-thick and delivered mostly through her nostrils. A few lightups, but mostly just drag/exhale, drag/exhale, ad infinitum. Lafont, who's more attractive than Lebrun for my money, smokes in several scenes as well. Mostly set in cafes, although a few scenes from each actress are in bed. Although it was filmed in 1973, when color was pretty much universal, this one's in black and white. |
