Movie is in black and white, and most scenes with smoking take place against a white background, making it more difficult to see, but there is some visible smoke in some scenes. Schygulla smokes twice, once just holds, second time has a visible exhale. Ungerer smokes twice, once lighting up with another cigarette and having two drags shot close up with audible exhales; second time she lights up with a match and the camera cuts away before the exhale but you see the inhale. Sorbas smokes in about 6 scenes and has some excellent smoking, with light-ups, talk-exhales and audible drags and exhales. Hermann smokes in one scene with a drag and a voluminous exhale. Mattes smokes once, in the same scene as Ungerer's second scene, but you only see part of the inhale. Schaake smokes in one scene in a car with 2 excellent french inhales and exhales. |
