| Overview (TMDB): | Bridget Jones is an average woman struggling against her age, her weight, her job, her lack of a man, and her various imperfections. As a New Year's resolution, Bridget decides to take control of her life, starting by keeping a diary in which she will always tell the complete truth. The fireworks begin when her charming though disreputable boss takes an interest in the quirky Miss Jones. [Zellweger] A real disappointment. Her character 'smokes' in almost every scene, but despite all the press about her learning to smoke herbals for the role, she still doesn't come off as an IRL smoker at all. Countless instances of tiny drags and nonexistent exhales. In many scenes she even seems uncomfortable holding. A really good performance overall, but a very poor smoking performance; she fakes being British much better than she fakes being a smoker. |
