| Biography (TMDB): | Audrey Justine Tautou (French pronunciation: [o.dʁɛ to.tu]; born August 9, 1976) is a French actress and model. Signed by an agent at age 17, she made her acting debut at 18 on television and her feature film debut the following year in Venus Beauty Institute (1999), for which she received critical acclaim and won the César Award for Most Promising Actress. Her subsequent roles in the 1990s and 2000s included Le Libertin and Happenstance (2000). Tautou achieved international recognition for her lead role in the 2001 film Amélie, which met with critical acclaim and was a major box-office success. Amélie won Best Film at the European Film Awards, four César Awards (including Best Film and Best Director), two BAFTA Awards (including Best Original Screenplay), and was nominated for five Academy Awards. Tautou has since appeared in films in a range of genres, including the thrillers Dirty Pretty Things and The Da Vinci Code, and the romantic Priceless (2006). She has received critical acclaim for her many roles including the drama A Very Long Engagement (2004) and the biographical drama Coco avant Chanel (2009). She has been nominated three times for the César Award and twice for the BAFTA for Best Actress in a leading role. She became one of the few French actors in history to be invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in June 2004. Tautou has modeled for Chanel, Montblanc, L'Oréal and many other companies. She is an active supporter of several charities. |

Sweet little Audrey smokes throughout this romantic comedy. She's really into it, too, with cheek-collapsing drags and nice rich exhales. Highlights scenes are many: In one, she's waiting for her boyfriend outside his apartment. Just after she takes a deep drag, he comes running up and begins kissing her wildly, oblivious -- or maybe not! -- to the fact that her lungs are full of smoke. She extricates herself barely long enough to blow a little to the side before resuming kissing. My other favorite scene featured a double-pump with a nostril exhale during the second drag, then a long, thick cloud exhaled straight ahead of her as she walks. A third scene, in which she's naked and between bouts of sex, features an enormous exhale right next to her lover's face as he moves in to kiss her. Those are the best scenes, but there are several others, including two on the street, one sitting on the hood of a car, and one in which she absentmindedly uses a menorah for a light in front of her Jewish boyfriend and his parents. All in all, another French delight. |

Lovely Audrey is all glammed up and smokes in several scenes scattered throughout. Mostly lots and lots of holding, but there are a couple of great, cheek-collapsing lightups, several exhales, including a couple of talking exhales, and at least one exhale through her nostrils. She has one scene kissing a guy while smoking (and very drunk), and another in which she takes a deep final drag and then expertly flicks the cig about 100 feet away, always a smooth move. Lighting and editing don't always show the smoking to best advantage, and she smokes those ultra-long, thin toothpick cigarettes that don't appeal to me at all, but overall this is well worth seeking out. |

Tilly smokes in 4 scenes in the latter half of the movie. Several inhales in each, but as usual, she doesn't inhale. Tautou in one scene takes one of Tilly's cigarettes, lights up and takes a hard drag. Shortly after, another strong drag and a faint exhale. |

Disappointing considering her previous smoking performances. Az%ma has a lightup and a few drags in one scene. Doesn't inhale. Holds unlit in one later scene. Nanty has an uninhaled drag off Tautou's first cigarette. An unidentified actress at the beginning has two inhales and a singing exhale in an overhead shot. |

Near the end, at a little roadside diner, she lights up and takes three powerfully intent drags, followed by beautifully long, thick exhales, two in profile, one more or less at the camera. A very good scene from a lovely actress, but there's just that one. |
