Movies
Abrazos rotos, Los
smokingsides
Fantastic film, mediocre smoking. Cruz, never more beautiful, lights up in close-up once, but the camera cuts away before the flame even touches the cigarette. When it cuts back to her, she's holding next to her face; she starts to take a drag, but doesn't quite get the cigarette to her lips before she interrupts it to speak, then the scene ends. Arrrgggghh! Later she holds briefly, and much later she again tries to light up on a very windy beach, and fails. Portillo, who's middle aged, holds in several scenes and then is seen exhaling from behind through a cafe window and later from inside the cafe nervously lighting one cig from the end of another. Fuentes takes several drags in the background of one scene, but her exhales are invisible. |
Blow
smokingsides
An absolutely fantastic movie for the smoking fetisher...Early in the movie, many beautiful women are smoking joints and cigarettes, including [Potente] who exhibits wonderful mouth/nose exhales. In one scene, she erotically blows marijuana smoke from her mouth into Depp's...Meanwhile, Cruz smokes cigarettes throughout and has at least three great exhale shots, while often snap inhaling. She looks so IRL! ...all in all, a must see! |
Sin noticias de Dios
smokingsides
Many smoking scenes scattered throughout. At least one lightup off a match, two scenes dangling lit, one unlit, plus many drags and exhales and a lot of holding. Nevertheless, it largely fails to satisfy, for three reasons -- mediocre lighting, few closeups and only one somewhat closeup exhale, and her affecting a 'tough' style that includes holding her cigarettes between thumb and forefinger. She's still gorgeous, though, and smokes a ton here even if the quality's not the best. |
Twice Upon a Yesterday
smokingsides
Three scenes. The first two, one in a bar and one on the street, are okay but not terribly interesting. In the third, she's in closeup as she lights up pretty sexily in a bedroom, but then her exhale is shot from further away, although it's quite visible. To the practiced eye, there's enough awkwardness in her style to suggest she's not-IRL -- but she definitely inhales. |
