Biography (TMDB): | Daphne Eurydice Zuniga (born October 28, 1962) is an American actress best known for her roles as Jo Reynolds on Melrose Place, Victoria Davis on One Tree Hill, Lynn Kerr on the drama series Beautiful People, and Princess Vespa in Spaceballs. She made her film debut in the 1982 slasher film The Dorm That Dripped Blood (1982) at the age of 19, followed by a lead role in another slasher film The Initiation (1984) two years later. She went on to star in several comedies, including Rob Reiner's The Sure Thing (1985), opposite John Cusack, and the cult comedies Modern Girls (1986), and Spaceballs (1987). She also starred opposite Lucille Ball in the television drama film Stone Pillow (1986), and in the science-fiction horror sequel The Fly II (1989). She later gained major exposure as a television actress for her role as Jo Reynolds on the Fox primetime soap opera Melrose Place from 1992 to 1996. Other television credits include roles as Victoria Davis on One Tree Hill (2008–2012), and as Lynn Kerr on the drama series Beautiful People. |

Artificial Lies
smokingsides
[Zuniga] She smokes convincingly in about 10 scenes throughout the movie. This is by far her best performance yet and includes several closeup drags and lightups. Because of editing there aren't too many exhales but there is an excellent one early outdoors on a rooftop that follows a mini snap inhale. Later on there is a good scene in a police station with a good audible inhale and exhale. I recommend seeing this if you have ever wanted to see her smoking in any movie. |
Stand-Ins
smokingsides
This one you should not miss. Here's the set-up: A group of six stand-ins/look-alikes for 30s movie stars (including the 4 smokers listed above, who play the stand-ins for Marlene Dietrich, Jean Harlow, Bette Davis, and Greta Garbo respectively) rent a bar for a day to celebrate the birthday of one of them. Whereupon, of course, for the next 90 minutes they proceed to talk, drink, and smoke up a storm. Hardly a smoke-free scene in the whole movie, with Marlene and Bette -- er, Missy and Jordan --particular standouts in terms of quality and quantity, although all four have their moments. Lots of gloves, lots of red lipstick, Sammi uses a holder, and all, of course, smoke unfiltered. |
