Terrific smoking performance as a ballsy black-leather-jacketed journalist, somewhat compromised by indifferent editing, as sometimes the director uses a poor background, cuts away too quickly, or shows her as she's just completing the end of an exhale. Still plenty of great shots, though. Shows a lot of the same moves and attitude as in Hot Blooded -- the nimble holding, the deep inhales, the dangles, the thick exhales. And she successfully defends her crowns for both distance and altitude in flicking away a cig. She also blows smoke in a guy's face in one scene. I think she's consciously playing to the fetish crowd, not that I mind. |

One early scene, daylight in a parked convertible. Wuhrer takes two deep drags facing away from the camera, but after each one she turns her head to look over her shoulder, in time for us to see enormous, well-lit exhales. That's it for the rest of the film, though. |
