Biography (TMDB): Charlize Theron (born August 7, 1975) is a South African-American actress and producer. One of the world's highest-paid actresses, she is the recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award. In 2016, Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Theron came to international prominence in the 1990s by playing the leading lady in the Hollywood films The Devil's Advocate (1997), Mighty Joe Young (1998), and The Cider House Rules (1999). She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster (2003), for which she won the Silver Bear and Academy Award for Best Actress, becoming the first South African to win an Oscar in an acting category. She received another Academy Award nomination for playing a sexually abused woman seeking justice in the drama North Country (2005). Theron has starred in several commercially successful action films, including The Italian Job (2003), Hancock (2008), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Prometheus (2012), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016), The Fate of the Furious (2017), Atomic Blonde (2017), The Old Guard (2020) and F9 (2021). She received praise for playing troubled women in Jason Reitman's comedy-dramas Young Adult (2011) and Tully (2018), and for portraying Megyn Kelly in the biographical drama Bombshell (2019), receiving a third Academy Award nomination for the last. Since the early 2000s, Theron has ventured into film production with her company Denver and Delilah Productions. She has produced numerous films, in many of which she had a starring role, including The Burning Plain (2008), Dark Places (2015), and Long Shot (2019). Theron became an American citizen in 2007, while retaining her South African citizenship. She has been honoured with a motion picture star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 15 Minutes
smokingsides
Briefly holds in 1 scene only
2 Days in the Valley
smokingsides
Only one scene; no inhales or exhales, and barely visible smoke. It's disappointing in that regard, but she sure does look good holding.
Celebrity
smokingsides
Griffith has one good drag, Neuwirth smokes with a holder, often biting on it when not puffing. Ryder has three great scenes, with some nose exhales and smoke talk. Theron smokes long brown cigarettes in all of her scenes, with extreme cheek hollowing inhales and some french inhales. She often puts it between her teeth before inhaling. Mol has one drag off of a joint. Pantaeva briefly smokes a pipe.
Dark Places
smokingsides
There are two good smoking scenes. In one she lights up, takes a big drag, inhales it all, and starts talking while exhaling. The lighting is poor and it is hard to see the exhale, but it is a very good lighting up scene. In the other scene she is lying on a couch, reading a magazine; she takes a drag and lets out a lazy exhale which just kind of drifts toward the ceiling.
Head in the Clouds
smokingsides
Cruz lights up twice early in the film and [Theron] lights up once early. Late in the film [Theron] receives two lights. Film set in Paris mostly from 1920's through WWII non-filters.
Men of Honor
smokingsides
smoking non-filters in her role of Gwen Sunday... only two smoking scenes... The first one showed a drag, inhale, and an exhale, the second only showed a drag, and her holding the cigarette.
Monster
smokingsides
Ricci smokes in a clip from the movie shown on Entertainment Tonight
North Country
smokingsides
[Theron] Limited. One quick drag in a bar with no exhale. In the middle of the movie, two quick drags in the lobby of a skating rink. And late in the movie, an outdoor exhale, but you don't see the drag. All in all, very disappointing.
Reindeer Games
smokingsides
smoked in nearly every scene of the trailer
Sleepwalking
smokingsides
[Theron] has a few nice scenes. The one scene with 13-year-old AnnaSophia is surprisingly long. It comes out of nowhere and plays out like a dream sequence, as she extracts a pack of Marlboro Lights from her pocket and uses her subsequent smoking to arouse a couple young boys at a swimming pool.
The Burning Plain
smokingsides
Theron smokes in about 4 scenes but it's not her best work because of editing and lighting. Tunney also smokes a couple of times but its nothing outstanding.
The Cider House Rules
smokingsides
Lights up a rolled cigarette in one scene, with one inhale and exhale. We see part of an exhale in another scene. All in all, a disappointment considering the past quality of Ms. Theron's work.
The Curse of the Jade Scorpion
smokingsides
[Theron, trailer] Two separate shots, one with a fantastic exhale, the other lying on a bed taking a huge drag.
The Life and Death of Peter Sellers
smokingsides
[Watson] smoked in a couple of scenes
The Yards
smokingsides
She has a few holding scenes early in the movie. About 20 minutes in she has 2 drags in a nightclub. Later on about 1 hour in there is a good lightup scene followed shortly by a very good close up snap inhale. Overall would have been better if the exhales were more visible.
Trial and Error
smokingsides
only scene is a one second take of her holding a lit cigarette- though you can see her arm in the background with a lit cigarette, and that someone is smoking, we only see more than her arm when she spins around when Jeff Daniels character starts hyperventilating-- nothing else in the Movie-- nice shot for a single screen capture though
Waking Up in Reno
smokingsides
Big disappointment. Theron has some brief holding scenes and only saw one drag. Richardson one decent drag and if I remember right one or two brief holding scenes. Cruz maybe 2 drags nothing to write home about. Sad movie for the fetishers.
