She subsequently starred in the television thriller Intensity (1997) before landing her first major American film role in the drama Waking the Dead (2000). She gained further notice for her role as a Las Vegas escort in the drama The Center of the World (2001), for which she was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. In the early 2000s, Parker had lead roles in several films, including Max (2002), Pure (2002), and Nine Lives (2005). Beginning in 2004, she starred as Alma Garret on the HBO Western series Deadwood, appearing in all three seasons. Movies
Break a Leg
smokingsides
Just one scene, a couple of drags and pretty visible, thick exhales.
Intensity
smokingsides
All the smoking took place in the opening 10 minutes. [Parker] and the other actress [Milligan] were waitresses taking a cigarette break... Their smoking looked real enough to me. The unnamed actress even got in a decent partial nose exhale
Marion Bridge
smokingsides
[Parker] shown holding a cigarette in a still from the movie.
Max
smokingsides
has some good drags and exhales in that movie
smokingsides
Interesting movie set in post-WWI Munich, but the smoking is only fair, at least from the women.% Parker has a terrific scene early in which she extracts a proffered cigarette from a pack with her teeth, accepts a light, and exhales slowly at the ceiling.% Sobieski takes a drag from her lover's cigarette while snuggled up against him in a caf%, and appears to be just about to exhale into his face when the camera cuts away.% Finally, a beautiful red-lipsticked extra is seen taking four close-up drags in a gallery, but each time, again, the camera cuts away before she exhales.
Men with Brooms
smokingsides
Holds in one scene, drags in two others. A real disappointment -- camera cuts away during a close-up of her dragging while driving so that we miss the inhale; other scene outdoors from a medium distance, so we don't really get to see a good inhale or exhale.
Pure
smokingsides
Playing a junkie, Parker smokes in 2 scenes and holds in a few others. First scene has a lightup and a talk exhale. 2nd scene 2 inhales and an exhale. Knightley smokes herion twice but you don't see her exhale anything. Thomason smokes drugs through a pipe once with a faint exhale.
smokingsides
[Jordan] smokes in 5 scenes. One light up and several drags.
Suspicious River

Who Loves the Sun
