Darkman II: The Return of Durant
smokingsides
The very attractive Kim Delaney smokes Marlboro Lights throughout this film. Best scene is near the beginning, when she inhales several times in a row before going on the air (she's a TV newscaster); second-best scene is her pulling a cigarette out of the box pack while she's still on the news set, and an extreme close-up inhale. While she doesn't look IRL, it's still pretty good work. |
The Drifter
smokingsides
A must! She smokes various brands of cigarettes throughout (a 10+ drags performance). Close-ups, long mouth exhales, french-inhales, some all-whites, long nails, I think this one might please a lot of people. Just wanted to add something here: Yes, this is wonderful for many terrific scenes featuring the lovely Delaney, but what really makes it unique, and a classic, is that it's one of the few depictions you'll see of a modern-day woman smoking unfiltered cigarettes. Check it out: In her first two scenes, she smokes filters. Then in the scene where she's riding in her car with the drifter driving, she unobtrusively -- watch closely -- tears off the filter of her cigarette and tosses it out the window. And in every one of the (many) smoking scenes that follow, this modern, young, chicly-dressed urban professional woman is smoking unfiltered Camels. When was the last time you saw THAT in real life? And what wouldn't you give? What a wonderful display. |
