Movies
House of Sand and Fog
smokingsides
Smokes Marlboro Lights in about 6 scenes. Her character is pretty sad and pathetic, but beautiful. Its Connelly, right? Close light ups, ultra close up dangle while driving, light up with car lighter, good drags and exhales. Not bad.
Of Love and Shadows
smokingsides
Connelly doesn't smoke in this movie
Pollock
smokingsides
This one is set in the NY art world of the 40s and 50s, so there's lots of smoking. Harden smokes throughout. Madigan has one brief scene with a lightup, plus another where she's has a holder with an unlit cigarette in it. Seymour just holds in one scene. Connelly takes two drags with one decent exhale outdoors at a train station near the end.
Requiem for a Dream
smokingsides
First smokes (Marlboro Lights) in fast motion party scene in apartment. Cute, but too quick to see much. By the end of the film, by which time she's acquired a smack habit, she's smoking pretty regularly.
The Hot Spot
smokingsides
The director should get the electric chair for screwing up the scenes in which Jennifer smokes. No close-up, no inhales, no exhales and the final edit of the movie shows her lighting up the same cigarette twice in a scene. The scenes with Virginia are, as usual, top quality though. But... something's missing.
