| Biography (TMDB): | Theresa Russell (born Theresa Lynn Paup; March 20, 1957) is an American actress. Russell made her film debut in The Last Tycoon (1976), followed by a lead role in Straight Time (1978). She was then cast in Nicolas Roeg's controversial thriller Bad Timing (1980), which earned her critical praise. After marrying Roeg in 1982, she appeared in many films directed by him, mainly arthouse and experimental films, including Eureka (1983), Insignificance (1985), and Cold Heaven (1991). Russell starred in Whore and Kafka, both released in 1991. Russell appeared in the box-office hit thriller Wild Things (1998), starred in the critically acclaimed drama The Believer (2001) and, in the later 2000s, appeared in HBO miniseries Empire Falls (2005) and had a minor role in Spider-Man 3 (2007). Four scenes. In the first, she takes a drag and runs her tongue over her lips after exhaling. The second is a lighting. The third involves four drags in a car. The best, though, is a back-lit scene towards the end, where her three exhales stand out nicely. A continuity error means she passes her cigarette to her companion, but, seconds later, it is sitting comfortably between her fingers again. |

She smokes throughout but her hair doesn't do it for me in this one. All the smoking scenes come in the last forty minutes. She initially appears showing plenty of cleavage as she drags and appears to pick tobacco from her tongue, following up with four more hits, though the director cuts away on two occasions. There is a lighting scene in a bar with a solid drag and inhale and she licks her lips in appreciation after a voluminous exhale. She later rejects a gold-tipped brown cigarette in favour of an all-white non-filter as in other scenes and smoke can be seen curling through her cigarette as she holds it after lighting. There is a further scene holding. |
